Best Advanced Steel project competition
The competition was held between the users of Advanced Steel (AS) for establishing the most successful and best-practice in CAD/CAE projects. The presented projects were assessed by the “Geobaltus” partner Steel Manager of "Graitec" Mr Philippe Bonneau for selecting the most complex and sophisticated steel structure designed with AS. Three best projects were awarded at the seminar of GRAITEC products on October, 2007.
The golden prize
The golden prize was awarded to Panevėžio statybos trestas (PST) (Panevėžys, Lithuania). It was awarded for design of a dome, which is an element of historic monument the Palace of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The dome, containing 7 tons of steel, connects the existing Cathedral building with the Palace ensemble, which has total area of 10000 square metres.

Award ceremony delivered by Graitec.
“It is the most fascinated work we have done with an AS product. Advance Steel was very helpful in creating and visualizing the 3D model. We could also automatically create high quality workshop drawings thus saving us considerable time” – comments the PST representative.
The silver prize
The silver prize was awarded to Konstruktorių cechas (Kaunas, Lithuania) for the project on reconstruction of shopping centre, construction its extension with basement parking system and a high-rise hotel.

The bronze prize
The bronze prize was awarded to Butina (Vilnius, Lithuania) for the project on design of industrial premises and storage facilities in Pabradė (containing 107 tons of steel structure).
